WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ian A. Shavitz, a partner with Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP, is presenting “Tribal Water Management: Tips for Achieving and Maintaining Water Quality” at the Tribal Water in the Southwest conference on March 8 in Laveen AZ. His discussion will focus on the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act enforcement trends, litigation updates, and implications for tribal water use and management.

At Lippes Mathias, Mr. Shavitz is the team leader of the firm’s Environment and Energy Practice. He has more than 20 years of experience counseling and advocating for clients on environmental and land use issues associated with developing large-scale infrastructure, energy and commercial projects. Mr. Shavitz has also assisted tribal clients in securing required approvals for development projects located on and off tribal lands, advised on the environmental aspects of land-to-trust applications and leasing of tribal lands, and drafted provisions of tribal codes and regulations.
