BUFFALO, N.Y. – Brigid M. Maloney, Lippes Mathias LLP partner and team co-leader of the firm’s health care practice team, has been appointed as the Town of Aurora’s first woman town attorney following a three-two vote at the town’s annual reorganization meeting. Brigid will serve a two-year term in the role, which will see her advise the town board, dept. heads and other officers of the town on matters pertaining to the functions and legal incidents involving of their respective offices. A lifelong resident of East Aurora, Brigid has been active with a number of community-based organizations including: the Boys & Girls Club, Youth Court, Friends of Knox Farm, and the Immaculate Conception Church.

Brigid began her legal career as an assistant county attorney in Erie County, NY, focusing heavily on municipal law. Over time, as her experience grew and her responsibilities with the county expanded to include the Erie County Medical Center, she added health law to her municipal experience. Lippes Mathias, the third-largest law firm in Western New York, possesses extensive experience in the area of municipal law, and represents municipalities on matters involving land use governance issues, Article 78 proceedings, personal injury claims, and law enforcement liability.
