BUFFALO, NY – Ian A. Shavitz, Partner and Team Leader of Lippes Mathias LLP’s Environment & Energy Practice Team, and Martin L. Doster, the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and Senior Environmental Advisor, presented during a panel discussion titled “Let's Play Jeopardy... and the topic is Brownfields,” during the Business Council of New York State's 2021 Annual Environmental Conference.
The panel, which was moderated by Ian, also included Fred Arcuri of Corning Incorporated, and Andrew O. Guglielmi, Esq. of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation as speakers.
Ian A. Shavitz is a Partner and Team Leader of the firm’s Environment and Energy Practice Team, and has more than 20 years of experience counseling and advocating for clients on environmental and land use issues associated with developing large-scale infrastructure, energy, and commercial projects; securing federal, state and local governmental permits and approvals; advising sellers, purchasers, lenders, and investors on environmental issues associated with corporate, real estate and energy transactions; and advocating for favorable policy decisions and legislation before Congress. Ian’s clients have included corporations, municipalities, developers, investors, state and local governments, private equity funds, and Indian tribes.
Martin L. Doster, Senior Environmental Advisor for Lippes Mathias LLP’s Environment & Energy Practice Team, advises clients on contamination issues, cleanup requirements, and cost-effective remedial strategies under state and federal Superfund and brownfields programs. He joined the firm in 2015 following a 32-year career with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, where he spent the majority serving as the Regional Remediation Engineer for Western New York.
