BUFFALO, N.Y. – Jessica M. Peraza, a Lippes Mathias LLP associate and member of the firm’s trusts & estates practice team, has been appointed to the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project’s Rising Champions for Justice Board.

Jessica M. Peraza focuses her practice on estate planning and administration, Medicaid, and long-term care planning. As a law student, she interned for the Hon. Barbara Howe in Erie County Surrogate’s Court and worked in the Public Benefits Unit of Neighborhood Legal Services. Her previous experience includes residential foreclosures, public and private sector labor law, contract negotiations, probate matters, third party credit collections, and representation of clients in administrative hearings and arbitrations.

Rising Champions for Justice (RCJ) is a group of young professionals dedicated to furthering the Volunteer Lawyers Project’s (VLP) mission to provide free legal services to low-income people while gaining valuable board experience and professional development. Members support VLP through organizing events, fundraisers, networking, and professional development opportunities, and through volunteerism. In its first year, VLP welcomed 21 new members to the Rising Champions for Justice from a variety of firms and backgrounds.
