Lippes Mathias is proud to congratulate Suzanne Rohde, formerly of the firm’s Washington, D.C., office on her appointment as Chief Counsel to the United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA). She was sworn in on March 10, 2025, and immediately began serving in her new role.

During her tenure at Lippes Mathias, Rohde was a valued member of the firm’s transportation practice team, advising clients in both the public and private sectors on transportation policy, legislation, and regulatory matters. She brought to the firm a wealth of experience gained from serving in senior roles in both the legislative and executive branches of the federal government, including positions with two U.S. Secretaries of Transportation, members of Congress, and the National Transportation Safety Board. In the private sector, she has worked extensively with transportation consulting and law firms, in addition to her role as Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Policy for the American Bus Association.
