Titled, "Protecting Computer Software Beyond Process and Function: Leveraging IP Effectively With Copyright, Design Protection, and Trademarks," the program will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST and will explore innovative approaches to intellectual property (IP) protection for software in the United States and globally, beyond traditional reliance on utility patents and trade secrets. 

The panel will address topics such as what aspects of software are protectable, the hurdles to obtaining various IP protections for software, how counsel can assist clients in developing an IP protection strategy, and how a prospective acquirer evaluates the steps taken by the seller to protect its software. 

Following the presentations, the panel will host a live question and answer session, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and address specific concerns about these important issues. 

This session will provide actionable guidance for legal counsel, software developers, and businesses navigating the complexities of IP protection in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
