Berj K. Parseghian, a partner and member of Lippes Mathias’ environment & energy practice team, served as the moderator for the “PFAS – Standards, Permits, Source Control and Regulations” panel at The Business Council of New York State’s 2024 Environment Conference on Thursday, November 21. This year’s conference brought together leading voices from the public and private sectors to discuss critical environmental issues facing New York State.
Held annually, the Environment Conference opened with two hours of regulatory sessions, followed by a networking reception on Wednesday evening. The main conference on Thursday featured industry experts addressing topics that included regulatory updates, sustainability, and emerging challenges such as PFAS management.
The panel, moderated by Parseghian, provided an in-depth exploration of PFAS regulatory frameworks and practical strategies for managing associated risks. Panelists included:
- Dr. Gary Ginsberg, PhD, Director, Center for Environmental Health, New York State Department of Health
- Andrew Guglielmi, Director, Division of Environmental Remediation, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
About Berj K. Parseghian
Berj K. Parseghian’s practice is uniquely focused on lawsuits brought under federal and state environmental laws related to contaminated sites, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). He has significant experience with sites involving dioxins and furans, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), 1,4-dioxane, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
