Bruce A. Smith, a partner at Lippes Mathias and a member of the firm’s health law practice based in Syracuse, recently presented at the 2024 New York State Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Inc. (NYSAASC) Annual Conference. The conference, held September 17-18 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, New York, gathered healthcare professionals from across the state.

Smith’s presentation, titled Legal Issues and Considerations in ASC Anesthesia Delivery, provided attendees with insights into the models of anesthesia delivery in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) setting. His presentation covered critical legal issues involved in various delivery models, key aspects of third-party ASC anesthesia agreements, and considerations for out-of-network anesthesia billing and anesthesiologist equity ownership.
