BUFFALO, NEW YORK — Lippes Mathias is pleased to announce the hiring of Rachael E. Baskerville and Stephanie B. Rivera as attorneys in the firm’s Buffalo and Jacksonville, Fla. offices, respectively.

Baskerville, an associate, is a member of the firm’s consumer financial services litigation practice team, where she assists clients with claims involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and other consumer protection statutes. Prior to joining Lippes Mathias LLP, Baskerville assisted municipalities in defending against civil rights actions brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. In the past, she has also defended clients in casualty and negligence matters including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, products liability, construction site accidents, and toxic tort cases. Baskerville graduated with her J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law and received both her BS and MBA from Canisius College. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie County, and the Women’s Bar Association’s Western New York Chapter.

A member of the Lippes Mathias’ litigation team, Rivera’s practice focuses on business litigation, with an emphasis on commercial litigation, and other litigation matters. She has prior experience assisting clients with insurance defense matters including personal injury, premises liability, commercial litigation, insurance coverage matters, trucking accident defense, and general liability matters representing both individuals and corporations. Rivera is a graduate of both Western Michigan University’s Thomas Cooley Law School, where she received her J.D. and the University of Michigan, where she earned her B.A. She is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association as well as the Jacksonville Women’s Lawyers Association.
