BUFFALO, NY – Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP, Buffalo Jewish Federation and Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies hosted a presentation and conversation with Ilan Regenbaum on February 26, 2020. Lippes Mathias Chairman Scott E. Friedman and Partner Dennis C. Vacco provided the welcome and introduction.

Mr. Regenbaum is one of Israel’s leading tech experts and is the managing director of Siftech, the startup lab at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Launched as Jerusalem’s first startup accelerator, Siftech helps early-stage startups take their ideas forward. 

Mr. Regenbaum is traveling to Western New York as a goodwill ambassador on behalf of the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs of the State of Israel. He has a strong background in startups and entrepreneurship having founded three companies and working as a startup investor at two Israeli venture capital funds.  He will speak on “The Secret Sauce of the Startup Nation.”  

In September of 2019, Lippes Mathias began a collaboration with Kan-Tor & Acco, an Israel-based global corporate immigration law firm. This new collaboration allows Lippes Mathias to provide U.S. legal services to Israeli businesses and clients who face litigation, government investigations or who may need U.S. compliance work. 

The idea for collaboration first started when Mr. Vacco, a Lippes Mathias partner and former NYS Attorney General, traveled to the country for a personal visit. From that initial trip, he returned several more times for meetings with Israel-based law firms and other business leaders to explore opportunities in providing U.S. legal assistance. 

On March 16, 2020, Mr. Vacco and Michael G. Rossetti, also a partner with Lippes Mathias, will travel to Israel for a presentation to the Israel Association of Corporate Counsel, titled “Business Regulations in the U.S. – How to Comply and Succeed.” This presentation will offer a look behind the scenes of American politics, ethics and government interactions.
