BUFFALO, NY- The Buffalo law firm of Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP is pleased to announce that Martin Doster has joined the firm as Director of Operations and Senior Environmental Coordinator.
Mr. Doster comes to the firm following a 32-year career with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, where he spent the majority serving as the Regional Remediation Engineer for the Division of Environmental Remediation. In 2012, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency honored Mr. Doster with the Environmental Quality Award recognizing his significant contributions to improving the environment.
In his role as the Director of Operations at LMWF, Mr. Doster will be responsible for overseeing employee relations and human resources issues, accounts receivable coordination, vendor relations, and coordinating the firm’s strategic initiatives.
As the Senior Environmental Coordinator, he will draw on his three decades of experience in environmental work to advise the attorneys and consult on matters related to environmental issues facing LMWF's real estate and development clients.
“I am delighted to be given the chance to work with such a gifted and exciting group of staff and attorneys,” Mr. Doster said of his new role with the firm. “This opportunity was appealing to me because it allows me to continue my work in the environmental field on a national basis, and it shows the breadth of the law firm and how it can address all segments of a business relationship.”
Partner Kevin J. Cross, who leads the firm’s environmental practice group, said the selection of Mr. Doster was strategic for the law firm on multiple fronts.
“We are constantly looking for ways to better serve our clients and offer them the most complete service possible,” he said. “Marty brings an incredible wealth of knowledge in the arena of environmental matters to our firm and his presence will be invaluable to our group and the clients we serve.”
Mr. Cross said Mr. Doster is a natural fit to lead the firm’s operations, as his background with the DEC included more than two decades serving in a management role and honing his leadership skills.
“Serving as the Director of Operations for a law firm is unique from many other industries,” Cross said. “We are confident that Marty is the right man for the job and we look forward to his leadership and insights as we continue to grow our firm.”
