ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Nov. 17, 2023)—Lippes Mathias partners Randall P. Andreozzi and Tiffany D. Bell, both members of the firm’s tax controversy practice team, presented on separate subjects at the Tax Section of the Monroe County Bar Association’s 58th Annual Tax Institute, which was held at Oak Hill Country Club. Andreozzi, leader of the tax controversy team, provided a federal tax update at the event while Bell, who serves as partner-in-charge of Lippes Mathias’ Clarence, N.Y. office, delivered an update on IRS practices, procedures, and enforcement alongside Charlie Young, CPA of EFPR Group, CPAs.
Randall P. Andreozzi’s legal career has focused on the resolution of complex tax controversy matters, large case (corporate) tax matters, tax shelter litigation, employee welfare benefit litigation, and international/territorial tax issues. For 16 years, Andreozzi worked for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, where he served as industry counsel for the Commissioner’s Industry Specialization Program, evaluating and litigating tax cases and presenting Welfare Benefit Plan issues. He also assisted and counseled other IRS attorneys and revenue agents in their development of cases under the ISP program, offering valuable expertise in areas involving tax shelters and the corporate income tax consequences of VEBAs and Welfare Benefit Plans. Now in private practice, Andreozzi continues to focus his practice on complex tax litigation and tax controversy resolution. His practice areas include international taxation and foreign bank account reporting, criminal tax and financial crime defense, employee benefit taxation, tax shelter litigation, and a variety of emerging areas of federal and state tax law.
Tiffany D. Bell concentrates her practice in tax controversy matters including matters before the IRS and New York State Department of Taxation and Finance regarding individual or corporate income tax, information reporting, employment tax, and sales and use tax. She assists clients administratively during income tax audits, Department of Labor audits, New York State sales tax audits, federal and state employment tax audits and trust fund recovery penalty matters, innocent spouse requests and defense, Foreign and Domestic Voluntary Disclosure Programs, Foreign Information Return compliance and defense, Employer Shared Responsibly Payment defense, tax collection defense, criminal tax investigations as well as individual and corporate tax litigation. During law school, Bell served as an extern with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel and as an intern with Buffalo Legal Aid Public Defender’s Office.
