Tiffany D. Bell Speaks on IRS State of Affairs Panel Hosted by Paragon Compliance LLC

BUFFALO, NEW YORK – Lippes Mathias LLP today announced that Tiffany D. Bell, a member of the firm’s tax controversy practice team and partner-in-charge of the firm’s Clarence, N.Y. office, spoke as part of a panel presentation hosted by Paragon Compliance LLC titled “IRS State of Affairs: Ten Months After the Inflation Reduction Act panel.”
Bell provided insight from the tax preparation and reporting perspective while an enforcement and tax litigation perspective and a software and processing perspective were also provided. Other speakers on the panel included Brian Hedges, Paragon Compliance President and CEO, and Anthony Scinto, Partner at Mengel Metzger Barr.
The panelists covered the following topics:
- An overview of the August 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which promised an $80 billion boost to the IRS funding through 2030
- Changes in the United States political landscape since August 2022 that may have influenced the projected $80 billion investment
- Recent case studies and "war stories" illuminating the current IRS environment
Bell concentrates her practice in tax controversy matters including matters before the IRS and New York State Department of Taxation and Finance regarding individual or corporate income tax, information reporting, employment tax, and sales and use tax. She assists clients administratively during income tax audits, Department of Labor audits, New York State sales tax audits, federal and state employment tax audits and trust fund recovery penalty matters, innocent spouse requests and defense, Foreign and Domestic Voluntary Disclosure Programs, Foreign Information Return compliance and defense, Employer Shared Responsibly Payment defense, tax collection defense, criminal tax investigations as well as individual and corporate tax litigation. During law school, Bell served as an extern with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel and as an intern with Buffalo Legal Aid Public Defender’s Office.
