Remember the summer of 2007 when all employment-based priority dates became current? I certainly do, as it was a small window of time to file I-485 paperwork for many cases. There is some speculation that October 2020 could be similar.

There will be a record number of immigrant visa available starting October 1st (FY21) due to unused family-based immigrant visa numbers from FY20. This should result in significant movement for many employment-based preference categories.

While I would be shocked if we saw a repeat of the summer of 2007, I am hopeful that we will see significant movement with EB-2 and EB-3 India and EB-2 and EB-3 China. We will know soon as the Visa Bulletin for October 2020 will be released any day.
