Maureen is a partner in the firm’s Health Law Practice Team, concentrating her practice primarily on the representation of clients in the health care industry on a wide variety of issues. She frequently provides advice and counsel on issues related to day-to-day practice management, patient care, managed care contracting, reimbursement and billing including the defense of Medicare and Medicaid audits, medical records, privacy and security of health information including HIPAA, entity formation, employment matters, and federal and state regulatory matters, including certificate of need (CON) applications, corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting prohibitions, self-referral (Stark), Anti-Kickback and other fraud and abuse issues.

In addition, Maureen has significant experience navigating complex healthcare transactions including the representation of clients in transactions for the purchase and sale of healthcare facilities and physician practices, joint ventures, due diligence and private equity related transactions in the healthcare industry.

Maureen is a frequent lecturer on issues involving the privacy and security of health information and is often called upon to conduct HIPAA training for Covered Entities and Business Associates.
