Lippes Mathias LLP is pleased to announce that Andrew M. Wilson, partner and co-leader of the firm’s immigration practice team, has been named the 2025 Students of Color Ally of the Year by the University at Buffalo School of Law. The recognition was presented at the law school’s Annual Students of Color Dinner on April 4.

Hosted each year by the Black Law Students Association, the Latin American Law Students Association, and the Asian Pacific Allied Law Students Association, the dinner celebrates the achievements of graduating third-year students and honors individuals in the legal community who have helped open doors for minority legal professionals.

A 1998 graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Law, Wilson has been actively involved in the school’s Discover Law Undergraduate Scholars Program, which introduces historically underrepresented and first-generation students to legal education and careers. Each summer, he organizes a visit to Lippes Mathias for the program’s scholars, helps identify mentors, and has continued to support several participants as a mentor well beyond their time in the program.

About Andrew M. Wilson

Wilson has extensive experience with challenging H-1B, NAFTA/USMCA and O-1 extraordinary ability cases. He is frequently consulted by other AILA immigration attorneys for assistance with complex NAFTA/USMCA matters.
