BUFFALO, N.Y. – Lippes Mathias is pleased to announce the strategic addition of Devon R. McDonald, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), as the firm’s director of tax. Devon, who is not an attorney, has more than 15 years of diverse tax experience and will play a crucial role in advising the firm’s various transactional teams and their clients, who include both domestic and foreign business entities, on the tax implications of each transaction.

“Lippes has added 19 attorneys to its ranks in 2022 alone, but growing to accommodate our clients’ needs doesn’t always have to mean adding more attorneys,” Kevin J. Cross, Lippes Mathias’ managing partner, said. “Devon’s addition reinforces our tax capabilities, and strongly enhances our transactional practices focused in corporate, M&A, private equity, real estate and health care at Lippes Mathias.”

Devon’s industry experience includes private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate companies, fund-of-funds, manufacturing companies, and family offices. He has represented clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities regarding audits, delinquent filings, and other tax controversy matters.

Devon holds a B.S. in accounting from Nazareth College and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York State. Outside of his role, Devon is also active in the community, serving as a board member for both the Canisius High School Alumni Association Board of Governors and the Nazareth College School of Business and Leadership Advisory Board. Devon’s professional associations include memberships in both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
