Lippes Mathias is pleased to announce the addition of Jay A. Organek and Kennedy Farr to its Buffalo office. Organek joins as counsel on the trusts & estates team, while Farr joins as an associate focusing on corporate and regulatory counsel for health care providers.
Jay A. Organek is a member of Lippes Mathias’ trusts & estates team and focuses his practice on domestic and international estate and trust planning, estate administration, estate litigation, multi-generational tax planning, retroactive IRS compliance, and tax guidance on the acquisition or transfer of cross-border real property. Drawing on his extensive experience assisting U.S. and Canadian citizens with tax and legacy matters, Organek simplifies and translates complex legal issues, enabling his clients to make informed decisions. His background working with estate planning law firms in the U.S. and Canada gives him a unique international perspective. Organek earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2014 and holds a B.A. from Dalhousie University.
Kennedy Farr focuses her practice on providing corporate and regulatory counsel to health care providers, including health systems, hospitals, medical groups, diagnostic laboratories, and individual practitioners. She regularly advises on the formation and organization of health care affiliations and collaborations, including national telehealth networks, management services organizations, and professional corporations, while addressing state licensure and corporate practice of medicine issues. Prior to joining Lippes Mathias, Farr was an associate at BDO USA, where her work in state and local tax (SALT) compliance included conducting state tax nexus studies and guiding clients through voluntary disclosure agreement programs across various states. Farr earned her J.D., cum laude, from New England Law in 2023, a B.S. from Ohio University in 2018, and an I.B. from Ridley College in 2013. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, and Young Lawyers of Boston Association.
