Patricia M. Dodson Sworn In as Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates

Lippes Mathias is pleased to share that Patricia M. Dodson, counsel in the firm’s Jacksonville office, was sworn in as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) on March 25 at a ceremony held at the River Club in Jacksonville. ABOTA membership is extended by invitation to trial lawyers who have demonstrated high personal character, honorable reputation, and significant courtroom experience, including a minimum of 10 civil jury trials to verdict as lead counsel.
Founded in 1958, ABOTA is a national organization of experienced civil trial attorneys and judges dedicated to preserving the right to a civil jury trial and promoting professionalism in the legal community. The organization includes more than 7,300 members representing both plaintiffs and defendants, and its national headquarters is based in Dallas.
Dodson has tried more than 70 jury trials to verdict and brings more than 30 years of experience in civil and criminal trial work, government and constitutional law, nonprofit law and corporate counsel. Her practice includes civil and commercial litigation, personal injury and employment discrimination. She also advises clients on breach of contract, professional regulation, credentialing and medical malpractice defense.
Before joining Lippes Mathias, Dodson served as chief of staff and general counsel at K9s for Warriors, where she also led the organization’s policy and government affairs team. Earlier in her career, she served as assistant state attorney and managing director of the State Attorney’s Office in Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit. Licensed in Florida since 1993, Dodson has held leadership roles in several legal associations and led hundreds of state employees throughout her public service.
