BUFFALO, N.Y. – Lippes Mathias is pleased to announce that it has been recognized with the bronze award in the large company category by Buffalo Business First for the publication’s 2023 Best Places to Work Awards. The award recognizes companies in Western New York that provide exceptional work environments for their employees. Out of 77 finalists, only 14 companies were named as winners, with the top three companies in each size category receiving a bronze, silver, or gold recognition.

Companies were ranked according to their overall score on a Quantum Workplace survey completed by employees, which was calculated by compiling raw data from the questions on a one to six scale (strongly disagree to strongly agree) to find an average score that was then indexed to a 100-point scale. The total number of survey responses was also factored in the overall score. Winners are chosen 100% based on the results of the survey and, in essence, by the employees themselves.

Best Places to Work winners were revealed during a reception held on Thursday, March 18, where Lisa G. Decker, the firm’s director of human resources, was also presented with an HR Impact Award. Decker, who has more than 20 years of finance, office administration, and human resources experience, is responsible for the overall human resources management and administrative functions for all eleven of the firm’s office locations. This includes employee relations, policy management, performance evaluations, and benefit administration.
