BUFFALO, N.Y. – As part of the firm’s sustained, strategic growth, Lippes Mathias LLP today announced the opening of its eighth office location in Rochester, N.Y. The addition adds to Lippes Mathias’ multi-state footprint, which already includes offices in Buffalo, Albany, Washington, D.C., Jacksonville, Fla., Chicago, New York City and the Greater Toronto Area, and is the latest installment in a period of significant, organic growth for the firm, which has grown from 48 attorneys to 135 in the last eight years.

Along with the news of its Rochester office’s opening, the firm also announced the addition of Michael Overmyer as a partner in the new Rochester office. Overmyer, a Rochester native, joins Lippes Mathias from a previous partnership with Phillips Lytle LLP, bringing with him a successful practice focused on commercial banking and commercial real estate. Michael will represent businesses, real estate developers and financial institutions in a variety of complex financial and banking matters, including the direct purchase of tax-exempt bonds and matters financed in part with low-income housing and historic tax credits. Michael is a 2008 graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law, and a 2005 graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia. Michael is admitted to practice in both New York and California.
